As we all know, this is a constantly changing situation, this is where we are now:
Dr. Savastio and I have been monitoring the situation daily with close attention. There is a scientific consensus that things are going to get worse before they get better. We feel that, as in all challenging times, it is best to stay cool and calm and look at what we know and don’t know, as well as what we can control. It is important to remember that 97-98% of the people who become ill from this virus can expect a full recovery.
The biggest concern is to attempt to keep it from spreading, which is primarily to protect those who are most vulnerable: the ill elderly and those with pre-existing immunocompromising conditions.
We would like to offer our patients an opportunity to schedule 15-minute appointments either via phone, video chat, or in person to assess you and your family’s risk. We can then put together a plan to support your immune system and your body’s stress response (these two things are, of course, strongly related).
The in person visits may be submitted to your insurance, while phone and video appointments will be $45.
Meanwhile, we are waiting for the test kits. At this point, it is still unclear how many tests will be available to run; therefore we need to carefully choose who needs testing.
Ultimately, let’s be wise and follow the CDC recommendations, and be guided by reasonable precautions without fear.
